2. Eligibility for admission
Females to whom 1 or 2 below applies, and who fulfill the requirements set forth in 3 and 4
- Foreign nationals who have completed a 12-year school course in a foreign country, or similar individuals who had been designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
- Individuals who have earned the International Baccalaureate awarded by the International Baccalaureate Organization, which is a foundation pursuant to the Swiss Civil Code, and who have reached the age of 18. Or individuals who have obtained the Abitur certificate which is recognized in various German Federal Republic states as a qualification for admission to a university, and who have reached the age of 18. Or individuals who have acquired the Baccalaureate, which is recognized in the French Republic as a qualification for admission to a university, and who have reached the age of 18.
- Individuals who, after entering our university, can obtain the residence status of overseas student without any problem
- Individuals who have a Japanese sponsor/referee in Japan
<Precautions>
Notwithstanding the abovementioned requirements, foreign nationals who have lived in Japan for over two years, and have completed Japanese high school education or an equivalent course of education, are ineligible to apply for this special admissions program.
3. Application documents (those within 3 months of application submission)
- Examination Admission Slip, Applicant�s Photograph Slip, Admission Application Slip
- A photocopy of the Examination Admission Slip for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, or EJU
- A mailing label with the applicant�s name, for return mail use (separate one label from a sheet of six labels, and write the applicant�s name.)
In addition, submit the following documents:
- Certificate of Graduation and Academic Transcripts of the last school attended: Graduate Certificate and the Official Academic Transcript. If the documents are written in a language other than Japanese or English, attach either a Japanese or English translation thereof. Applicants who have earned the International Baccalaureate, or have passed an examination for eligibility for university admission in their respective countries, must submit documents that verify these statuses. If the above documents are photocopies, make sure to submit certified true copies.
- Records of Personal Information: Write in Japanese or English, using a form designated by the university. Write all academic backgrounds in detail.
Make sure to come to the Entrance Examination PR Center at the Sakado Campus and obtain the forms.
- Certificate of Sponsorship/Personal Reference: Write the necessary information fully in the form designated by the university. (This document certifies that the Japanese national who acts as the individual�s sponsor or referee has sufficient assets to pay for the overseas student�s living expenses, tuition and other fees during his or her stay in Japan. The sponsor/referee also pledges, in this document, that, if the student becomes unable to pay the above fees, the sponsor/referee shall pay on the student�s behalf.)
Make sure to come to the Entrance Examination PR Center at the Sakado Campus and obtain the forms.
- Residence certificate of the Sponsor/Referee: A Sponsor/Referee must be a Japanese national aged over 25 residing in Japan who is financially independent. The person who acts as a sponsor/referee should be a person who can continue to sponsor the applicant after he/she is admitted to the university.
- Certification of the Registered Information on the Alien (Foreign) Registration Certificate: An applicant who already has Authorization of Resident Eligibility in Japan must submit a photocopy thereof as well. Note that the Certification of the Registered Information on the Alien (Foreign) Registration Certificate differs from the Alien Registration Certificate.
- A photocopy of the applicant�s passport
4. Screening method
Applicants are comprehensively screened, based on the 2009 Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, or EJU, conducted by the Japan Student Services Organization (JSSO), as well as individual examinations (interviews) conducted at the university.

Interview tests, conducted as part of the Special Entrance Examination for Privately-Funded Overseas Students, will be held at the Komagome Campus for all faculties and departments. Confirm the location to be sure not to make a mistake.

5. Announcement of test results
Test results will be announced on the university website shown on the cover, from at 10 a.m. on the day of the announcement. The examinee number of those who have successfully passed the tests will be posted. The university will send a Notification of Passing the Examination as well as admission procedure documents to successful applicants by post, on the day of the announcement of test results. The documents will be addressed to the applicant, and sent via delivery-certified mail. Therefore, it may take several days for the Notification to arrive, depending on the delivery area. No notice will be sent to unsuccessful applicants. Ask the nearest post office for information on delayed mail, etc.
- * The university shall not respond to any phone inquiries about successful or unsuccessful test results.
- * Applicants�Eentrance examination scores shall not be disclosed by the university.
6. Admission procedures
- Go through the admission procedures in line with the Guidelines for Admission Procedures enclosed with the Notification of Passing the Examination.
- Transfer the money required for admission procedures to a financial institution such as a bank, credit union, JA, etc.
- If, after having completed admission procedures, an individual passes the examination for entrance to another department or major within our university, and wishes to enroll there, he or she may transfer all the amounts he/she had already paid to the department/major for which admission procedures will be taken anew. For details, see the Guidelines for Admission Procedures.
- If an individual wishes to decline admission to the university after having paid the fees required for university admission, he/she must take the following procedures described below.
- [Deadline for application] Tuesday, March 31, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. (Application must arrive by post by this deadline; it may also be brought in person.)
* Note that no applications whatsoever shall be accepted past the deadline.
- [Method of application] Use "Notification of Declination of Admission, and Application for Return of Money Paid to the University," a form designated by the university and which is enclosed in the Guidelines for Admission Procedures, and apply by attaching the Permission of Admission issued by the university at the time of entrance procedures.
- [Method of refund] Of the money paid to the university at the time of admission procedures, the entire amount excluding entrance fees (*) will be transferred to the designated bank account by April 30, 2010, and refunded.
* These include miscellaneous expenses, fees for school supplies, and dormitory fees.
- [Where to apply] Send by post, or bring the necessary documents to the address shown below (make sure that they arrive before the deadline date).

If this Certification cannot be obtained, your admission permission will be canceled.
Vocational College
Privately-funded overseas students
Individuals who wish to receive education at our school by obtaining residence status as an overseas student require the following documents, in addition to matters shown in this "Outline for Accepting Student Applications."
We accept a small number of students from other countries, who gain general admission to the school to take a course specializing in food preparation. For the method of selection, eligibility for submitting applications, and schedule of entrance examinations, etc., please refer to the separate sections for each department and faculty.

Other necessary documents
Those wishing to study abroad will need the following documents, in addition to the Admission Application Slip and envelopes. Documents and forms should be received at our school�s Admissions Consultation Office, and be submitted together with other documents necessary for application for entering various faculties and departments.
Documents 1 and 3 must be filled out in Japanese by the applicant himself/herself.
- Records of Personal Information: A document that records all educational and academic backgrounds on a school-designated form, for the purpose of confirming admission eligibility.
- Certificate of Graduation and Academic Transcripts of the last school attended: Graduate Certificate and the Official Academic Transcript. If the documents are written in a language other than Japanese or English, attach either a Japanese or English translation thereof. If the above documents are photocopies, make sure that they are certified true copies.
- Written oath: A written oath stating that the exchange student will put the knowledge, skills, technologies, etc., acquired at our school, to use in work which he/she will engage in after returning to his/her home country. (Use the form designated by our school.)
- Certification of the Registered Information on the Alien (Foreign) Registration Certificate: Note that the Certification of the Registered Information on the Alien (Foreign) Registration Certificate differs from the Alien Registration Certificate.
- A photocopy of the applicant�s passport: Attach a photocopy of your passport.
- Certificate of Status of Attendance at a Japanese Language School (issued by a Japanese Language School)
- A Certificate of Expected Completion of a Japanese Language School, or Certificate of Completion.
- A document that certifies the individual�s ability to fund their tuition and living expenses as well as methods thereof.
Items 6 and 7 above shall apply only to foreign students who apply via the route of Japanese language schools. Foreign students who directly apply from overseas must submit a Certificate of Japanese Language Skills (Grade 1 or 2) or a Document Certifying Japanese Language subject scores of 200 points or more in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, or EJU, in place of documents set forth in 6 and 7.
Certification of Japanese language skills
Individuals who apply from abroad for admission to our school for the purpose of studying in Japan must submit either one of the following documents as proof of their Japanese language abilities and skills.
- A certificate showing that the individual has completed a minimum of 6 months of Japanese language education at a Japanese language educational facility as stipulated by ministerial announcement by the Minister of Justice.
- A certificate showing that the individual has received education for more than one year at an elementary school, middle school, high school and/or university in Japan. (In this case, the document may be replaced by writing this information in the aforementioned Records of Personal Information.)
- A Certificate of Japanese Language Skills and Abilities of Grade 1 or 2, issued by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES), or a photocopy thereof.
Proof of the individuals�Eability to fund their tuition and living expenses as well as methods thereof
Applicants must submit either one of the following to confirm their "sufficient ability to fund the expenses required for living during the period of overseas study," pursuant to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government�s Management Guidelines on the Acceptance of Overseas and other Students to Vocational Colleges and All Types of Schools, dated March 29, 2005.
- A photocopy of a deposit passbook of a bank account, in the applicant�s name, at a banking institution within Japan
- A certificate issued by a Japanese language school to verify the applicant�s ability to fund his/her tuition and living expenses
