
Other Divisions and CentersLibraryThe institute has the University Library at Sakado Campus, and the Junior College and Vocational College Libraries at Komagome Campus. They provide services to students, staff, and alumni of the institute, as well as to the general public. Our collection of books amounts to 120,000 volumes including 96,000 in Japanese and 24,000 in foreign languages. Our collection also includes some 900 titles of periodicals and magazines. Main subject areas are food and nutrition that are particularly relevant to subjects studied and researched at the institute. These include food science, fundamental medicine, hygiene, cooking, mass food supply and food culture. The collections are divided into the three libraries according to the subjects as they relate to the courses studied at each school. Audio-visual facilities are provided within the library also. We have a large volume of audio and video materials on topics covering nutrition, health promotion and wide educational subjects. We subscribe to major scientific journals, domestic and international providing users access both electronically and in hard copies. There are Scientific and Technical Information Network (STN) and JICST Online Information System on the Sakado campus, and DIALOG on the Komagome campus for research queries. |
